Class AppearanceCreator

java.lang.Object

voltex.AppearanceCreator

All Implemented Interfaces:

AxisConstants

public class AppearanceCreator
extends Object
implements AxisConstants

This class is a helper class whose main task is to create Appearance objects for a specified axis and direction. Each time when ask for an Appearance object, a new Appearance is created. This is necessary, since each slice has another texture. However, all the Appearance objects created by one instance of this class share their Appearance attributes. In this way, it is easy and fast to change color, transparency, etc.

Constructor Detail

AppearanceCreator

public AppearanceCreator(VoltexVolume volume)

Constructor. Initializes this AppearanceCreator with the given image data.

Parameters:

volume -

AppearanceCreator

public AppearanceCreator(VoltexVolume volume,
                         org.jogamp.vecmath.Color3f color,
                         float transparency)

Initializes this AppearanceCreator with the given image data, color and transparency values.

Parameters:

volume -

color -

transparency -

Method Detail

release

public void release()

Release all stored data.

setVolume

public void setVolume(VoltexVolume v)

Change the image data of this AppearanceCreator

Parameters:

v -

getOpaqueTextures

public boolean getOpaqueTextures()

Returns whether the created textures are supposed to be opaque.

setOpaqueTextures

public void setOpaqueTextures(boolean opaque)

This flag indicates whether textures are opaque or not. This changes effectively the texture mode, (depending on whether RGB or 8-bit textures are used) between RGB and RGBA, or LUMINANCE and INTENSITY. This only effects newly loaded textures. Opaque textures are for example needed for the orthoslices.

updateTextureMode

public void updateTextureMode()

Update the texture mode, after the volume has changed.

getAppearance

public org.jogamp.java3d.Appearance getAppearance(int direction,
                                                  int index)

Returns the Appearance object for the specified direction and index. This is composed of the shared Appearance attributes plus the individual textures.

Parameters:

direction -

index -

Returns:

setTransparency

public void setTransparency(float f)

Set the transparency for all the textures that were loaded by this AppearanceCreator.

Parameters:

f -

setThreshold

public void setThreshold(float f)

Set the threshold for all the textures that were loaded by this AppearanceCreator. Pixel values below the threshold are not rendered.

Parameters:

f -

setColor

public void setColor(org.jogamp.vecmath.Color3f c)

Set the color for all the textures that were loaded by this AppearanceCreator. Pixel values below the threshold are not rendered.

Parameters:

c -

getTexture

public org.jogamp.java3d.Texture2D getTexture(int axis,
                                              int index)

Returns the texture for the specified axis and slice

Parameters:

axis -

index -

Returns:

getTexture

public org.jogamp.java3d.Texture2D getTexture(int axis,
                                              int index,
                                              VoltexVolume vol)

Returns the texture for the specified axis and slice

Parameters:

axis -

index -

vol -

Returns:

getTg

public org.jogamp.java3d.TexCoordGeneration getTg(int direction)

Get the TextureGeneration of the specified direction.

Parameters:

direction -

Returns:
